Designer Masks: A new fashion statement?
Once recognized as a repulsive accessory to hide one’s identity, the COVID-19 pandemic has completely changed the perspective for the face mask- a protector and a sign of a civilized society. With the healthcare guidelines across many countries advising the citizens to wear face masks, the demand for face masks has increased manifolds, and the businesses in fashion have not been silent.
A new opportunity: Fashion focuses on making someone stand out of the crowd, whether it be hats, sunglasses, chokers or wristwatches, brands have always been in a close fight to lead the market. This time, the arena has changed to face masks. In the time of crisis like these, the demand for luxury items takes a slump but fortunately, different outlets have found their way to meet their sales targets, to keep their employees occupied and to stay relevant in the minds of their customers. On the flip side is an opportunity to serve the community. With most of the existing face mask manufacturers unable to meet the exorbitant demand, fashion outlets are helping the community to maintain the demand-supply curve.
There is something for everyone-Manufacturers- big and small are focusing on making unique designer face masks to please their customers. And like every general accessory, different outlets are focusing on different niche for their products. From pennies to fortune, there is a plethora of options available. Whether you’re young or old, prefer formal or casual, a Marvel fan or a DC fan, they’ve got you covered
Not just a fad: If reports are to be believed, the face masks are going to stay even when the pandemic is over. The face mask industry is expected to surpass $21.2Bn by 2026. With growing air pollution and significant hygiene considerations, face masks might just turn into an add-on accessory accepted swiftly by the society. What do you think?
